Finding Love Internationally

Whilst love has no boundaries the thought of finding love internationally may seem exciting. For some, very daunting of the possibilities of leaving everything behind in search of your destiny.

It may not be the case for everyone as we are all unique in our requests and desires in finding the one, the question is, how do we know?  Perhaps its intuition, where some might say, ‘you know when you know’, or perhaps the excitement of exploring new adventures. After all, if the situation ever arose and you decided to opt out, there would always be that feeling of what if…

Relocating to another continent may be all exhilarating. New you, new life, new beginnings but it takes someone with buoyancy to take that leap of faith into the unknown.

1. Adapting to changes

There are many factors to take into consideration; the language barrier, that slight awkwardness when you realise it is more than just the initial attraction of what made you fall for each other in the first place.

Your career; are your skills transferable? Do you research the employment success rates?  Do you decide to take up residency with someone you have never lived with or do you rent your own apartment?  What if it doesn’t work out.

There are so many implications, decisions, pros and cons to weigh up, nevertheless, what you seek maybe seeking you.

2. Dating outside your comfort zone

Dating someone outside your culture or just even in another country can be exciting as well as an eye opener for those that are culturally disengaged, but at the same time by broadening one’s mind and engaging in life’s experience, allows oneself to be fulfilled with the intricacies of how the other side live.

This could, predominantly be good when embracing family engagements. It gives you a chance to interact naturally without the feeling or need to forcefully impose yourself upon them.  If he/she is into you then ultimately their family have no option BUT to accept you.  There is however, that slight uncertainty in families where this just boils down to communication.   Other forms of dialect may have to be introduced.

Meeting other expats is an option to consider.  It may help in essence to adapt and feel more comfortable with your surroundings.  Get to know the people living in your adopted country and share experiences.  Your life journey can become that little endurable if for any reason, you feel out of your comfort zone.  It can be a great comfort to talk to people who are on a similar journey, if not just passing through, even if they are from another country.

So, embrace the change, take the leap, experience life and have no regrets. Love has no reason, no boundaries, no distance.  It has a sole intention of bringing people together to a time called forever.
